The Wimbledon tennis season is on, and if you guys do not know yet, Jiao Lian likes Justine Henin a lot. Not just because she is an adidas athlete, but because she is an incredible fighter. She never gives up.
On the other hand, if you have been tracking her tennis career, you would know that she is a timid little player before. She was a teenager when she entered the scene and she could not envision herself to win the big matches. One time she crumbled to her opponent when she had a good lead in the Wimbledon finals. However, she knew her will had to be stronger than her skills. After that game, although she is still small in physique, she is much bigger in her stature, and the rest was history.
Every great athletes suffers set backs, and yesterday was definitely not a great day for us. What is important now is making a come back next week! Also, as athletes of adidas, we sure can take a leaf or two from Muhammad Ali's book. He was a true champion, but he also lost many matches before. However, he is an icon because he knew how to win when it matters most!
"Champions aren't made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them - a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have last-minute stamina, they have to be a little faster, they have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill." ------------- Muhammad Ali
Finally, I don't know about you, but I am going to fight hard and bring this attitude on next Saturday:
"If you even dream of beating me you'd better wake up and apologize."
------------- Muhammad Ali
